FIFY

I'm fine with both of those teams being in. The seeding by the committee is outrageously fricked up this year though.

The one from the Big 12 that needs to be bitched about is Oklahoma getting a 5 seed.

Baylor as a 6 is a crime

One of those head scratchers where it looks like they seeded them off of how they played in the Big 12 tournament, but then they go on TV and talk about how little that actually matters.

A lot of of the bracket was set up this year doesn't make sense.

Honest question, how much college basketball do you watch?

If I watched half of Oklahoma St's they'd have been 4-5 most likely

Baylor ranked #23 in the AP poll today; #6 seems not too far off.

TBH, most baylor fans expected #7/#8 seed.

If I happened to decide to watch Baylor (6 seed) in January I would have seen them lose 75% of their games.

Again it is the hypocrisy of the whole thing. SMU was like #25 and they got left out.

Their reasons for putting teams in certain spots wasn't the same for putting someone somewhere else.

I think the bottom line is that expecting humans using subjective criteria to produce a consistent rationale for seeding 64 teams is unreasonable

Should use a formula of some sort (RPI?) to rank the teams and then adjust to a small extent based on logistical concerns (ex: if Florida were #8 in the formula rankings and Arizona were #9, and you still needed a 2 seed in the West bracket, you give the 2 seed to Arizona and make Florida a 3 seed in a South or East bracket)

They have multiple tools to figure it out and it seems like they ignore these type of things.

They talk about SOS mattering a ton and then it doesn't matter as much for others.

They have a bunch of tools to use like Ken Pom and Sagarin, but they refuse to use these type of things.

The #1 thing they seem to use is here is this 4 seed window we can put this team in which will lead to the best possible match ups and where they will sell tickets.

It isn't some coincidence that Wichita's second round game is most likely against an 8 seed that most thought was going to be a 5 or 6 seed. It isn't a coincidence that Louisville would just happen to be Kentucky's sweet 16 match up.

shite WVU would have got in if we didn't have some awful non conference losses at the start of the year.

Because the Big12 was basically the SEC of football. It was a gauntlet. Teams have veterans, plus ridiculous talent. Watch them make a deep run in the tourney.

My Jayhawks need Embiid back....fast

Big 12 - Conf RPI rank: #1
AAC - Conf RPI rank: #7

Because 70% of the teams made the tourney and WVU (who would be the 3rd best squad in SEC or PAC) is good enough to be in the dance. Even Tech isn't that bad as Tubby has done well with them.

8-10 in conference and you played TCU and Texas Tech twice does not impress me.

Lots of good teams in the Big 12, but no great ones. There won't be any Big 12 teams in the elite 8.
