Tried to search but I'm on my phone. Sorry. I know this is a common topic
Looking for a good recommendation for late dinner (9-930) with drinks. Casual cause I'm in jeans and a polo. Preferably something unique to LA cause we live in Houston

Sitting at the bar. Asked for bartenders opinion on oyster remoulade poboy or high hat burger (with pimento cheese)
She suggested an off the menu item called "daddy's little fatty"
Fried oysters, pork debris, coleslaw and pickles. Quite possibly one of the most interestingly delicious sandwiches I've ever had.
The lady had the shrimp remoulade salad which she said was delicious. Kind of small portion on hers but that's what she was looking for so it was perfect.
Overall, it was exactly what we wanted. Loved it

High Hat has a secret menu? Investigation must commence. Oyster Fennel soup is awesome. The fries there are addictive.

No idea if there is really a "secret menu" so to say, but I'm really glad the bartender recommended Daddy's Little Fatty
The fries were indeed delicious... possibly just a tad oversalted, but they were still pretty delicious fries.
