The guy was a once in a generation draft pick for a reason. But not even the most optimistic person thought he'd be this good offensively, this early.
When he catches the ball in the post and turns and faces, he's unguardable. From that spot he blows by guys for the dunk, they're forced to hack him on the way by, or he knocks down the midrange jumper.
Now he's even added the dribble pull up from that spot to get himself in a rhythm if he isn't feeling the stand still jumper.

I sure didn't. I was hoping for a slight improvement but I didn't think he'd be this good at 24, much less at 21.

Y'all have a beast in AD.

I knew he could shoot when he was at UK. Over 60% but mostly on dunks,a few jumpers. His FT stroke was 70% plus and by form alone, energy I knew he had "It". He only took about 8 shots a game, but the team had 6- double digits scorers. They shared to the title.

Are the posters here in agreement that AD should get 20+ shots per game? Many times he finished with 11 or so.

Yes, I absolutely think he needs more touches. David Wesley complains on the broadcast about it all the time. I think Morrow needs more touches as well.

I don't want our offense to be 4 guys standing around and watching AD beat double teams. The Grizzlies run a good portion of their offense through Gasol and he only gets 10-11 shots, but he also gets about 4 assists per game. I'd rather see numbers like that than just targeting 20 shots a game for AD. A lot depends on pace too. The Grizz play with the slowest pace in the league so a similar philosophy with higher pace could see AD getting say 15 shots to go with 5 assists.
