I've found UPS to be the worst.

USPS is good except in certain areas (NYC, Chicago, Miami, and California).

<---- making note of who the obvious postal workers are in this thread.

USPS blows. My favorite is there ever so handy generic "in transit" tracking designation. No shite, geniuses. I haven't received it yet.

The last 3 things I ordered to be delivered through USPS, they fricked it up. 2 of them were 3-5 day deliveries that took 2-3 weeks. I'm annoyed with USPS right now too.

Doesn't the USPS lose money every year?

Filed a loss claim today with FedEx Freight. They somehow managed to lose a giant box strapped to a pallet. The package weighed 900 lbs and contained $120,000 worth of chlorine valves.

How the frick do you lose a 900lb box?!

I had an insured package attempted to be delivered last Saturday. Notice was left. I scheduled for redelivery attempt on this past Saturday. Nothing.

Can't get anyone to answer. So I have no idea where my package is. I assume it's at Bennington Post Office. I guess I'll just have to go see on Saturday.

Ah. That was yours? It was delivered to my place. Thanks for the valves, brother.

I get normal mail faster than first class

Normal mail is first class, and if you are mailing within a distribution hub it will arrive at the same time as Priority.
If there is too much mail getting sent off to the next distribution center, priority mail, has priority on the truck. Other than that, if the address doesn't require a plane or long haul trucking, then First and Priority are about the same in destination time. A letter from Nola mailed today before five, should be out for delivery tomorrow in Baton Rouge.

Another day, more USPS bullshite. I was waiting on three packages. Didn't receive any of them. Two were marked as delivered (and weren't) and one was marked as 'refused' and is being returned to sender.

Phone calls to local post office go unanswered after ringing for minutes on end. Phone calls to the USPS Customer Service is absolutely worthless. . . .

I've had very good service from the post office. Sounds like a Baton Rouge problem more than a post office problem.

so because one location won't answer the phone the entire service is to blame?

USPS is much cheaper and quicker than the other options.
