Well, I guess if Rush can plug his book on his show, it's ok for Carney to plug his wife's book on his show.

It's not his show. It's the taxpayers show and it's unprofessional for him to be plugging his wife's book.

That said, given the catalog of sophomoric behavior Carney has exhibited as the press secretary, it's par for the course.

I can't wait until we have a team of people that are suitable for the job again.

I will admit I have never associated, plug and wife, with Jay Carney.

He should be fired for such but that doesn't happen. This is what I find most disturbing about much of the MSM.

The press is supposed to be a watchdog for the people but this is an example of why we now have a press that is the watchdog for the government.

To the OP, meh. If I was press secretary, I would plug my wife's book too.

Can't get too worked up about a passing mention.

Now if he held an entire press conference just to promote it...

It would be nice to have adults running things again.

I watched it. I didn't have a problem with it. And I have a problem with almost everything about this administration.

I don't think he broke any laws by doing so, it is just very unprofessional and borderline unethical.

I have a HUGE problem with it because it gives his wife free advertising for her book. Deal these political assholes and how they demand so much shite for their ads because of the law and how they will make you work your arse off for them and you get a low commission because they are "political ads."

His wife got something for free that other authors and their companies pay to have done. He should be fired.

Actually, he may have broken some sort of law. As the spokesmen for the President, it is assumed that he is speaking on behalf of the President during his official duties of Press Secretary and I don't think promoting any product is legal in that situation. Possibly the Hatch Act?

He wins the award of the absolute worst press person in my life which is saying a lot in that he replaced Gibbs at the job.

Why would anyone be surprised that Obama's spokesman would engage in ethically questionable behavior? Hasn't there been enough evidence to date that integrity is not a requirement for that position?
