What are the positions of need that we would go after in the draft and still in free agency?

If the Saints get a deep threat WR, OL help, and a decent corner they'll be among the Super Bowl favorites.

C - pressure up the middle kills this offense and could render any WR aquisition useless if we cant get the ball out. This is arguably the most important OL position in the Payton/Brees offense where consistency is a must.

WR - need a guy who can get separation and go up and get a ball over a defense. We have enough posession guys.

Colston, Stills, Toon are the only WR's on our roster. And one of them can barely stay on the field. I don't get where people see that we have "too many possession wide receivers". We have TWO NFL caliber WR's currently on our roster, TWO!!!!!! Morgan is visiting KC, so if he leaves, I'll take any kind of WR I can get for the short term.

Could be. It was worth it if true(assuming Haralson comes back this year.)

Besides Stills Colston also on our roster.

Chris Givens 6'2" 208 WR
Charles Hawkins WR 5-8 180
Andy Tanner WR 6 183
Nick Toon WR 6'4" 218

Meachum and Morgan are not out of the picture and I think most around here agree that we will pick up a good WR in the 1st two rounds.

Besides the JG haters will tell you that Brees makes any one look good.

You could add JG to the WR list if you listen to Sexton

I agree, or at least would hope so also. Of the 4 guys you listed absolutely none have shown they are worthy of an NFL roster spot. Toon possibly could be, if he could ever get out of his own way. I'm hoping JM doesn't sign with KC. If he comes back we are fine, but if he goes I would just hate to have to find 2 WR's in this draft class (or be forced to ride with Givens, etc.) when we need line help, etc.

well i gotta admit i didnt realize our situation was that dire, however the point remains that havent had and a guy that can do what i mentioned with any consistency. Perhaps this purge creates the opportunity to aquire those skills and improve that group.

Loomis doesnt seem to be in panic mode. have we even brought any WRs in?

QB - Fine
RB - Fine
WR - Nothing after Colston & Stills. We need 2 WR's badly
TE - Fine
OT - Should be fine if we can sign Strief. Could use more depth
OG - The starters are fine, but we need to add depth
C - I can't stand DLP. Some people like him though. I'd draft a center personally.

DE - Fine
DT - Fine
OLB - Galette, Haralson, and Victor Butler. We could use 1 more legit OLB
ILB - Seem to be fine. Maybe 1 more ILB for depth
CB - We need a #2 corner to go with Lewis. Robinson & White are great backups/nickels
S - More than fine
P - Fine
K - Shayne Graham seems like a good short term answer. I'll be pissed if we draft a kicker.

Oh, I definitely agree with that point. We haven't had a guy like that in a long time.

Not to my knowledge. I'm interested about that as well as if we are in any kind of contact with either DLP and/or Strief. Would be greatly beneficial to us to be able to retain at least 1 of them. I think it would suck going into the draft having to fill starting caliber roles for both of those positions.

I thought Alex Mack out of Cleveland was supposed to be the top center FA. I'd also rank Goodwin over DLP

He is. I didn't bother with him though...no chance he comes here. Good call on Goodwin also. I agree
