gonna be a cold one. not as cold as MLS Cup, but a little bit of snow in the forecast as well.

can't wait to be a part of the first CCL game @ Sporting Park.

If SKC could get 2 goals you guys will have a very good chance to advance IMO. Cruz Azul has been killing in in League MX though.

That match is going to be a good one. Probably the most difficult opponent you'll see at Sporting Park this year. Cruz Azul is a tough side.

I hope SKC smashes them though.

He clearly stepped on Robben's achilles. That's a foul. I don't care that it wasn't called because it's a tough call to make and Robben has a bad reputation but the whole "embarrassing!" and "disgraceful" comments should stop.

Anyone who's ever had a cleat come down on your achilles knows how bad that shite hurts.

That gif is hilarious. He literally floats through the air two steps after the "foul."

Who here gets FS2, and what provider do you have?

I have Xfinity/Comcast digital premium in Memphis with the sports package tacked on, and still don't have FS2.

I need me some CONCACAF CL

Come on, he tried to sell a soft foul with a massive dive. He is a known actor and he won't get a lot of calls he should based on his reputation. Much like Suarez.

yeah that's a PK. he just did a horrible, unnatural job of selling it (which is probably why it wasn't awarded).

evened out for robben and bayern later though. he got a soft penalty later on. though you're kidding yourself if you think that one incident is why there's outrage re: Robben.

random thought that probably should be in the arsenal thread: is any defender as unlucky when it comes to PKs being awarded against him as Koscielny? he gets the benefit of the doubt less than any CB i've watched. he's conceded quite a few PKs over the past couple of years, and I'd venture a guess that 75% of them were highly questionable.

would be an interesting thing to research. see how many penalty shouts involving a defender compared to the number of penalties awarded.

Getting your achilles stepped on is not a soft foul. The gif and replays were slowed down, in real time he landed on his right foot after getting stepped on then went down.

Anyone who's been stepped on knows how bad that hurts. I don't expect anyone here to let facts get in the way of the Robben narrative but that's legit contact and a definite foul.

I'm not mad that the penalty wasn't given because of "the boy who cried wolf" thing that Robben has earned and it's mostly his fault but in this case, that's legit contact.

I've openly acknowledged that Robben goes down too easily. I don't have any problem admitting it. I'm just talking about in this instance.

A lot of the time, he gets clipped and it's a legit foul but his screaming and rolling around takes away from it. For someone who's moving as fast as he is most of the time, it really doesn't take much to knock him off his balance, but he needs to tone down the reactions once he's down.
