Guy will meet me at the landing at 10;30. Gonna try and squeeze in some fishing before he gets there. Any tips on showing a boat? I've had a few people look at it and apparently I'm a terrible salesman. I make sure I point out every flaw just because I don't want them thinking I'm trying to screw them over

Idk if you talk a lot... but if you do maybe slack off a little bit on telling them the flaws... let them decide on what is good and bad... that way you are not making up their mind for them before they can examine your boat... Good luck btw...

Thats what I would say, let them look and ask questions. Obviously tell them about any big problems, but otherwise it is a boat... they all have problems, good luck fishing/ selling.

make sure its clean, first. Tell them about any concealed issues, any plainly visible and cosmetic issues, let them see for themselves. Focus on options and upgrades and features.

Use some basic sales tactics.
Great them/ break the ice/ be friendly
Figure out what they are looking for in a boat purchase.
Make your boat fit their needs.

Let them do the talking. Point out the good and the bad. Play up the good. Down play the bad.

Step 1: Tell him how much you want for the boat.

Step 2: Ask him how much he will give you for it.

Step 3: Accept whatever offer he made, and run away from the boat.

Step 4: Be a happy man.

Don't use the same tactics you do when trying to sell that POS 280.

I'll always let the boat sale it self, when he/she steps onboard hand them a drink and a fishing pole. Sit back and enjoy the day, answer all question truthfully.

Ill never sell my 280

Hope this guy buys it. I'd feel bad if he drove from Laplace just to turn around and go home empty handed

That works in your favor. He doesn't want to drive to wherever you are (I'm assuming it's a long drive) and leave emptyhanded.
