Today, while driving the Natchez Trace, I saw a number of herds of does (or anterless bucks) in excess of ten to fifteen deer in each herd. I have been driving the same stretch for nearly ten years and often see deer, but have never seen them in groups that were as large as I saw today...is this normal for this time of year?

I saw about 60-75 there other day up here in PA. The road to work is always absent of other cars. I stopped in the road and yelled "HEY!!" The all looked and me but just stood there.

I've thrown beer bottles at the bucks to te them off the road. Stupid animals

I'm not sure, but it was this time of year last year when they were grouped up pretty good by my house. Lots of activity on the deer cam,but I think it was due to some high water in the swamp had em pushed into my yard.

Yes, they start herding up after breading. Comes down to safety in numbers. They will break apart once spring comes and they are ready to drop little ones.

They are doing the same here in The a Woodlands Tx.

In the last 7 days, I've seen several different herds or 50 plus.
