Both teams have multiple shooters and playmakers. We are all disappointed that the team isn't doing better but LSU just doesn't have anyone on the team that can consistently make plays. No one who can free up JOB inside. Before we all quit on Coach J, he first needs the time to get some quality backcourt players.

I'm also hoping he brings in a coach to strictly coach defense. We leave too many people open. Two more years should be enough time for Coach J to make some adjustments.

It is worth noting we just don't have a true scorer like Marcus Thornton. Really hopeful josh gray is the answer

you expect LSU to have the number of playmakers as a blue blood?

I've never bought in to the "lsu has the talent" schtick. Everybody on our team is average except JOB

You obviously misread my post. I said that Duke-UNC have multiple playmakers. LSU have one. This is why our offense struggles so much. Every once in a while Hickey, Stringer or Coleman can make a play (dribble penetration, 3-pointers, assist). Even a simple jump shot. We don't have that guy yet.

Thornton was the best pure scorer at LSU since Ronnie Henderson. He was a once every 10-15 year type of player. If CJJ's success is based upon him putting that type of player on the court year after year, then he's screwed.

Simply put, he did a horrible job with this team this year. Hopefully Gray and Hornsby can make up for the lack of efficiency in his offense, because the current offense has a hard time creating open good shots with much regularity. 22 foot 3 pointers (of which LSU jacks up a shitload of) are always going to be available.

Look. I think the world of Thornton, but labeling him a once in a decade type player is beyond hyperbolic. We can get a pure scorer like him every few seasons

Good teams have more than one guy like Thornton every year! If LSU gets one a decade we will continue to suck.

Everyone keeps pointing to LSUs talent is clueless. This team is not that talented. Anyone who watches college basketball regularly can recognize this. Martin and mickey have potential but are not close to complete yet. Martin plays so darn lazy. This team could have performed better but is severely limited. UGA dominated both games. Sadly, they have more talent developed and a ton more capable depth
