hunter fan help

I have a Hunter ceiling fan that doesn't have remote control. It's an older fan with a Hunter wall switch. We always run on high. Well, Sunday night it suddenly stopped working on high and will only work on low. I'm told the shop in BR that worked on them has shut down. Any help is appreciated.

A fan speed switch from Lowes/Home Depot will cost you a whopping $4.97

Go buy a new one with a remote and install it. Should take you less than an hour to remove the old one, put the new one together, and install and wire up the new one. I always loved mine with a remote. We're about to take down the last ceiling fan in our house though. Took the one out from the bedrooms upstairs, and we just renovated our den to convert it to a master bath and walk in closet. The only surviving ceiling fan is in the bedroom attached to that and it will be gone this weekend.

A spider bit into the cord. The fan is now infected. Burn the house down, and your neighbors on each side of you to be on the safe side. Head outta town on Bare foot because they may be in your shoes and cars. Never look back. Godspeed OP... Godspeed.

Stick with the same brand, and it will probably use the same ceiling mount.

Do yourself a favor and buy another brand, I hate to hang hunter fans and you will too

I know it's the new thing with interior decorating but there's no way I could do without ceiling fans in the house ......especially my bedroom ...
Except for the bathrooms we have ceiling fans in every room in the house including the kitchen ....oh and none in the dining room .....

Shex- thanks. I hope it will work with the Hunter fan. They can be peculiar about needing "Hunter" parts. I'll give it a shot.
I know this is a "just put a new one" generation but I prefer to fix existing stuff if it 's just a minor repair. I'm not into waste. I find it incredible the things people will toss due to a part that's less than 10 or 20 bucks.
