Yeah I have one. Compare ballistics past 100 yards. That's the reason I got the wsm. Faster, flatter, and shoots a bigger bullet.

Is the accuracy as good as they say? I was looking at a .17 WSM for a bit, but quality controls are making me lean to something else.

To me it seems like accuracy varies from gun to gun. I talked to a guy in a pawn shop that has one and his wouldn't shoot the 25gr accurately but would shoot the 20gr accurately. I haven't got my hands on any 20gr ammo but mine will drive tacks with the 25's. I was having a hard time finding ammo, went to dicks one day and they had 6 boxes left so I bought them all, then got a box from cabelas, and 2 from another website. So I'm set for a while. If you get one slide a dollar between the stock and barrel first! I shopped around and had a couple where the barrel and stock were touching. I don't really like the bolt though, it only cocks with the safety off, and if you're trying to bolt fast and don't push the bolt all the way in it will still turn down making you think it's closed until you pull the trigger.

Boyds now has after market stocks for them, a few issues but I think for the most part they have worked out the bugs.

I was working the range the other day and some guy was out there with an HMR and a WSM...both with high end scopes...he was bitching about the accutrigger on the Savage WSM said it wasn't a real accutrigger, and he couldn't group it for shite...His HMR was drilling holes in .223 cases at 100 yards...

any thoughts on this?

I was about to buy a Savage WSM and now I'm a little skeptical...

also wondering if the WSM will become one of those oddball cartridges that become expensive and hard to find...

I don't know how it's not a real accutrigger. It's got a different method of adjusting the weight of the pull but that's all I've noticed different. I had a 17hmr so I've owned a gun with a "real" accutrigger and they feel the same to me. Idk why he's bitching about it, yet has a high end scope on it and still owns the rifle. If he hates it so much maybe he should sell it. Or maybe he forgot it's a $300 gun.

This is 2 shots at 100 yards. If I had a bigger scope I probably could've gotten them closer but I have a 3-9x40 bsa.
