I enjoy MSW blog, lots of good insight. They make good arguments for and against the 1911. But mostly against...

I take it this is the Hilton Yam piece? There is an ongoing anchor street fight over at 1911 Forum

Yup, cant really argue with what he says though. Its been a battle for the ages, just a matter of time until one of the big dogs admitted technology caught up.

1911s are still fine pieces, its not like they magically became crap.

One day Ill have a cool custom 1911 to pass down, while my glocks are melted down to make the new ubercool stuff.

Is it true that he's on S&W's payroll now as a paid endorser for the M&P line? I know he's developing aftermarket parts for it via his 10-8 product line.

Being bombarded with nothing but the failures of the 1911 design, day in and day out – days, nights, weekdays, weekends, in person, on line, via email, by telephone, at work, on vacation – pretty much wore me out for the charm of tinkering with the gun. It is one thing to keep after 1-2 of your own 1911s, and a whole other matter to be a professional surrounded by guns constantly seeking your attention.

psssssh

oh yeah, nega1911fgt?

I believe he said he switched to the M&P and convinced a department to do the same.

My 1911 is one of my babies and has seen quite a few rounds. As a range gun, it is the king of the 45.

But for 40 or 9mm, my M&P CORE is my workhorse.

Damn OT baller on the board! I want one of their AR's chambered in 204ruger . They're not that unreasonably priced at $2250 for a custom AR. I really like the Wilson Combat Product lines.

I've shot their Super Sniper in .223 and one of their .458s and both were amazing. Backorder is so long on all their stuff though.
