1.Ryan Shazier OLB Ohio State
2. Antonio Richardson RT Tennessee
3. Paul Richardson WR Colorado
4. Jeremy Hill RB LSU
5. Ryan Grant WR Tulane
6. Carrington Byndom CB Texas

I personally would not be mad if this was the outcome of our draft. I think Ryan Shazier would be a perfect fit in this defense and the selection would add great depth in an already good pass rushing team. We could also add another tackle (Strief gone) and we would get two receiving options in Richardson and Grant, and even snag hill for an extra punch with Mark Ingram

I wouldn't be upset with Shazier. We have a number of needs before ILB, but I would like to see us get more athletic at that position. Hawthorne and Lofton aren't going anywhere this year, as it would cost us to cut them, but we could save a lot next year by cutting one, or even both.

As far as the draft you posted- it looks good, but I'd rather go DB earlier if it isn't addressed in Free Agency.

Yep. Hopefully RT, C, CB, and FS are all addressed in FA or in rounds 1-2 of the draft.

CB maybe, but the whole JG saga holds some unkowns to our finances even though we currently have him as a TE tag.

I could live with Shazier assuming Dix, Pryor, Dennard, Gilbert, Verrett, Cooks, Beckham, Benjamin, and Lee are all gone when our pick rolls around..

I'd take any of those guys over him, though.

How is this so far fetched? We're good at passing and we honestly don't have the youngest group of receivers. Jimmy Graham aside, Stills is the only guy that's in the first half of his career that will have an impact. We need to eventually address this position and the WR position is LOADED this year. So why is it so funny?

^^ This right here ^^

also, you can't rely on the Saints to pick a LB in the 1st round.

I think Mark Fields was the last LB that the Saints drafted in the 1st round and that was in 1995.

almost a solid 20 years since we've gone that route

Here's a pretty good article about him from a Steeler's blog with some highlight GIFs

LINK

He's being projected either a 4-3 OLB (WLB), or a 3-4 WILB. With us playing a hybrid of both, he looks like he could be a good fit here. I haven't watched many OSU games this year, but one word I keep seeing him described as is rangy, which can't really be used to describe either Lofton or Hawthorne. He definitely needs to pack on a few more lbs, which shouldn't be a problem in a NFL strength and conditioning program.

He could be a roaming linebacker, almost like what Harper played last year, except more athletic.

so... do the Saints snap a 19 year streak of not picking a LB in the 1st round and pick this dude?

Payton said we would have picked Cushing is Jenkins was gone, but I could see it this year. Shaizer would be the typical 1st round pick for us that not many expected.

Impressive, even if it was hand timed.
