I don't see anything wrong with it for $400 as long as you aren't getting it to compete with a Daniel Defense.

There are not that many .308 lower platforms but dpms does make one. If you want a budget shooter than pull the trigger.

Almost bought but decided that 300 blackout would be more difficult to find ammo for and more expensive to shoot.
Have a fully assembled lower waiting for a deal on a basic upper. Already have one AR tricked out, want just a basic with plastic grip for #2.

Only catch is that it's a carbine length gas system and while it may work just fine 300 works best with a pistol length gas system.
Other than that, it'll probably kill pigs just as well as anything else will.
