Do you use the same pot to fry fish and cook jambalaya in. If so how do you clean between uses.

Yep. Hot water, soap and cloth. Back on the fire after washing. Wipe down with oil and leave it on the fire until it starts to smoke a bit. Store for the next use.

Just an old myth. I know some who don't use it and all of my old uncles that do use it. Soap won't hurt it at all. Reference: I know a old guy that wrote a book on cast iron cooking and maintenance

Yep. Not "burn off" necessarily. You'll need a rag to get any left over out of it. But once you have all leftover food out put it on a fire to dry (you never store them with any moisture) and then rub the inside with a coat of oil while its hot to absorb. done deal.

Not trying to sound dumb cause I cook in a BI regularly but never fried fish and then some other meal. Thanks for the cleaning tips.
