(CNN) -- The Walt Disney Company has given notice to the Boy Scouts of America that it will pull all funding to the group starting in 2015 because of a BSA membership policy that bans gay leaders, the entertainment company said Friday.

Disney does not give money directly to the national organization or local BSA councils. However, through its VoluntEARS program, Disney allows employees to do volunteer work in exchange for cash donations to the charities of their choice.

Employees taking part in the VoluntEARS program will no longer be able to submit the funds to the Boy Scouts, the organization said. The new policy will not affect Walt Disney employees who volunteer with the Scouts, the company said.

Won't matter. If gays were allowed, there wouldn't be many Boy Scouts by 2015 left anyway.

Too many parents afraid it would become a pedo breeding-ground

Lol who downvoted me for that? I have nothing against Disney, but excluding a good organization like the BSA because of this is just plain ludacris.

Bitch move, but it can do what it wants.

BSA will buckle, and Trail Life will continue to grow.

Will be interesting to see if there is a chikfilean backlash. I could see conservative middle America being a large part of Disneys customer base.

I hope the boy scouts stand their ground - tell Mickey that he and Donald can do whatever they want in their spare time, but they can't mentor young boys.

Disney has that right,I haven't nor ever will give Disney any of my money for various reasons and they have the same right. And I know I'm not breaking them. Just a personal choice.

Imagine the outrage when a huge boycott of Disney gets orchestrated by those backing the BSA stance (i.e. those gay haters! DIE gay haters!).

yes, they are, but the southern baptist boycotts over gay days in the 90s went exactly nowhere.

Disney DGAF, they know they own your wallet and they have key stakeholders in the entertainment industry that are pro-gay that they do not want to piss off.

Either they have already donated this years money or have some contractual obligation would be my first guess. My second would be that Disney is hoping BSA changes its policy before 2015 so they don't have to cut off funding to a good organization, but get to look politically correct and all that stuff.

I am perfectly fine with this. I wish the gay mafia would do more of that instead of suing to make everybody accept them.

theunknownknight - what do you have against people wanting their young boys to be mentored by only men who hold a traditional, biblical view of love and marriage?

I was mobbed on reddit when I merely suggested that Disney had the right to do that just as the BSA had the right to exclude homosexuals based on religious grounds.

I think the downvotes are still going over there. That place is a breeding ground for Libtard groupthink.

I don't really care what they do, it's the self-righteous, overt, public breast beating bullshite PC propaganda that I hate. But that's corporations and politics in general. Bunch of modern day pharisees.
