Not "12 Years a Slave" or "A Confederacy of Dunces".

The Bible is a good book, but it's not the only book - it's not even about Louisiana.

Shocked that arguably the most influential book in human history would be considered.

I'm a firm Christian, but wouldn't this be an off handed way of State sponsored religion? As a libertarian I don't think a Government should show favoritism of a specific religion

Does anybody think this bill will see the floor?

Why do people support legislators with sentimental bills that have zero chance of passing and only serve to embarrass us and create a more divisive atmosphere?

Probably. State honorific bills happen all the fricking time. It's why states have state beverages, rocks, flowers, etc. They're stupid, but don't do any real harm.

Oh, look another La politician who is a real estate agent on the side.

Bill has zero chance of passing, thus it's a strategic move. Sadly, we're a low-IQ version of House of Cards.

I'll put my older sister in contention with him being suggested. She is the only white person in the Southern "jazz hall of fame" in the music school. Randy Jackson and she were classmates under Baptiste.

I am as sympathetic as anyone to state facilitation of religion, but this crosses the line from facilitation to outright support for a specific religious doctrine. I can't imagine that this will pass constitutional muster.

That seems grossly unconstitutional
