50 years old, leaves behind a wife and children. Died of massive heart attack. Wasn't overweight and didn't smoke.

Hug those children. You never know when.

I don't know. He worked in a different state. We would always speak when at a conference and would keep in touch by e-mail every so often.

So sorry. That is how old my dad was when he died from his second heart attack. Had his first at 40. But, he died in 1972. I always thought that if he had just made it 10 more years that the advancements in treating heart disease might have helped him live longer. It is sad for his kids. I'm almost 60 and miss my dad every day, even though I've lived my life longer without him than with him.

Terrible to hear, but it beats years of suffering and strain on the family.

my gf aunt died friday from lupis.

i dont understand why people dont get their heart checked out before its too late. it only takes 15 min to save your life.

start getting yourself checked at 30 if you care at all.

What do you even mean get your heart checked out?

I'm 27, but I already have concerns about this. I stay in shape, but eat a lot of meat and have taken lots of workout supplements over the years.

Feel like i'm a prime candidate

Go see a cardiologist for a stress test & interpretation. Doesn't take long and will have a lot to say about the state of your cardiovascular health.

learning of stuff like this is a big reality check, I turned 50 in November don't smoke but I do part take in adult beverages - so I got that going for me. Have had my 50 year old test done.

what is creepy is having had a person that you have corresponded via text, email or v/m and they pass away - it just shows how valuable our lives really are.

I take NOTHING for granted anymore... I am over 50 and think about stuff like this..... My family has a history of living a long life...75-85 years... So I am not worried so much about a fatal heart attack.. Its just the "NEVER KNOW' Angle that gets me....
