If you compare piece B when it's first cut to piece B when they move it to the left, it's different.

I watched it about a hundred times the other day. I finally figured out the two bars in the middle are rectangles and the two bars above are closer to squares. The whole candy bar gets shorter by one square size but still retains the 6x3.

You are losing the surface area of the removed smaller square, but it is spread across the whole bar. In the end, it looks like it matches up perfectly, but actually it is a tiny bit shorter. You can check this by placing your mouse cursor (if on a laptop) at the top corner and you will see this
