4 year old AL girl dies in attack by dogs

TALLASSEE, AL (CNN) — A 4-year-old girl in Alabama died after she was attacked by dogs in her front yard Wednesday.
"You can imagine they're still in a state of shock and shakenness," Jimmy Rodgers, Tallassee Police Chief, said.
Chief Jimmy Rodgers says this is the worst kind of tragedy he's seen in 20 years in law enforcement.
It happened in front of this home on lower Tuskegee road. The child was alone when the two dogs attacked her.

Good lord. The pain and horror that poor little one experienced in her last minutes... That's just awful.
But as the father of 5 year old I've got to wonder where where her parents? We live at the end of a cul-de-sac with no large dogs even close and we don't let her go outside unless we're outside and we've got our eyes on her.

Whether you want to acknowledge it or not a 4 year old should not be allowed outside unsupervised.
That doesn't make them fair game for bad things to happen to them though either.

I have an "almost 4 y/o"... We don't let him play in our fenced in back yard by himself at that age. Much less the front yard where he could possibly run into a street or behind a neighbor backing out.
