So because of foul trouble Monty is forced to play Withey and Rivers with the starters. Can't hate on what we've seen so far. Rivers has no problem playing D and letting the offense run through Gordon/Evans and Withey actually moves his feet/protects the rim.

Rivers , Gordon , Evans , Davis , Withey

Make it happen Monty.

No. The sample sizes are too small to really tell with Withey cause Monty never plays him. In terms of fit though, I think the skills make more sense.

He doesn't go so damn wide on the pick n rolls up top and flat foot himself out of the play. He contests at the rim much better. IDK. I'd like to see him tinker some more with the players that aren't Evans/Gordon/Davis.

I'm not even anointing Rivers. It's addition by subtraction. Roberts is overly ball dominant and doesn't play defense. Rivers mostly plays defense and brings the ball up to give it to Reke/Gordon with 15-16 seconds almost every possession.

I don't even want Holiday dominating the ball with Gordon/Evans on the floor, infinitely much less so if Roberts is in.

Rivers was about what we should expect last night. There were mistakes, but some nice things too. Other than missing Babbitt for at least 2 wide open corner 3s in favor of missed layups, he was fine for a backup guard.
