"I learned the greatest gift of all. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent."

LINK

I just watched this clip on youtube about Lilo Broncato's life. It's crazy how he uttered those words from the movie, after delivering an amazing performance in "A Bronx Tale" - but yet still ended up wasting his talent in real life.

He was OK. The kid that played the younger version moped the floor with him acting wise

I remember the first time I watched it, thinking how he looked just like a Bobby D mini me. I thought for sure he was his son IRL. Great casting job.

Based on his life growing up in the Bronx.

His real name is Calogero Lorenzo Palminteri.

And the unlocking door scene was money.

Great movie. It is a shame that he screwed up so greatly IRL.

And he's recently out after almost 8 years.

Did Lilo get off easy? Should it have been like Lonesome Dove and Jake and the Suggs brothers, where "If you ride with an outlaw, you die with the outlaw?" It didn't matter then if you were just trying to get through the territory without getting scalped. While Lilo was actively being a criminal, he may not have had an opportunity to intervene in the shooting. Jake's major sin was that he didn't live up to being an ex-ranger on the level of Gus and Call and didn't try to stop the Suggs brothers, though he probably would been killed in the process; he was just a leaky vessel who drifted with the wind.
