Why are female characters written so horribly? Your top 5 girl characters?

It seems like every drama has writers that write REALLY stupid female characters. Irrational, overdramatic, retarded.

Women are in general
Arya is quite irrational in GoT, bless her soul old gods and the new.
I know Leslie Knope gets a whiny bitch rep on here, but she's a strong female lead and catalyst for every other character to shine.
