I can't remember feeling this awful after winning a game, Watching us take care of A&M so easily makes me think of how Bi polar this team is. We beat them by almost 20 but we go there and play with no energy, no sense of urgency and at that time we were firmly in the mix of buddle teams for the tourney.

Just missed alot of opportunities to help ourselves, now it would virtually take a heroic effort for us to get in. Anybody that watched that Kentucky game knows this team LOOKS like a tourney team, they just haven't brought the energy in key road games.

Still optimistic about the Florida game I feel like their due to take a loss or have a bad game, kinda like Syracuse, they won alot of close games that they were on the verge of losing and finally they lost. Florida has had a few scares here lately with games that haven't pulled out until the End so maybe that loss is inevitable. Well I hope so anyway

It's become a mindset of the team I think where they exoect to win at home and exoect to lose on the road...but against the better teams they've played well on the road just came up one point short..umass and Kentucky. So maybe they will get over the hump against Florida.

MS, I'm the opposite.
This team has it's faults and yes it kills me that they don't always play with passion (well some of them).
But, I wanted to see how we would bounce back from our game against Ky.
I'm not ready to say the "light" went on, but coming out and taking care of a&m the way we did was encouraging. Add to that, a&m has actually been playing some pretty good bball.

I really think the key to this team is playing with more energy (on defense) and JMartin.
The defense part is a no brainer. But, when J Martin can knock down that outside shot this is a different team. We know Andre can stroke it. We know Hickey can hit some shots as can Coleman. But, when a guy like JM can hit that open shot it just opens up so many things.

Now Fla is a different beast. They defend. But, they will also light you up if you don't get in their face behind the arch. If LSU can play a similar game as they did with Ky (from the standpoint of hanging around and playing tough) they will have a shot. The key is not to turn the ball over and take advantage of the opportunities we will get. If we shoot well, I think we will be sitting there with a chance.

Find a way to win against Fla and I believe LSU holds their tourney chances in their own hands again.

Every good win gives me the same feeling Michael. I can't help but think about what this team is capable of accomplishing if they played to their potential on a nightly basis.

Really hard pill to swallow, especially because we are losing two true Tigers at the end of this year to graduation. I really wanted Andre to experience the big dance, and Im not sure if he will because of a few really silly losses.

I concur.

The sad part is, the "key" games are not the Floridas and Kentuckys. If LSU misses out on the big dance, we can thank the lackluster play against Rhode Island, at Bama, at UGA, and at A&M.

Good post. Young team and its tough to win on the road with the officiating. I think 21 is the magic number. Florida is really solid and that's a tall order.

Agreed. I think their win streak ends at 20 on Saturday at the O'Connell Center. I'll be uptown repping my LSU Shaq jersey on Saturday in anticipation of the big win.

Yep...

And imagine if we'd held on against Memphis and beat UMass as well

If JOB stays out of foul trouble like he did at UK, we'll be in it until the end.

One of these is not like the other. @UGA isn't a bad loss.

I've talked to Dre about the possiblity of him never making a dance.I tell him that hard work never guarantees success it only provides the opportunity. It could be worse, I played for 3 colleges on 3 different levels trust me it could be worse. He's played major division 1 basketball and been a solid contributor. Cant complain about that

I was looking at that too. I'm happy to see them play with energy after that grueling OT loss.
Especially since so many guys played a lot of minutes (Hickey with 44, JOB 36).

A&M were in 9-14 pre-season. Won their first 4 conference games and went on a losing streak of 5 games and are 4-7 as they're closing out the season.
A bit up and down like LSU, but a more than capable team than they're given credit, esp. with a shortened roster

Love to see each of our guards on Wilbekin all night.Throw some different looks at him.
We need to plan man-man.

My mantra all year. No dumb or lazy passes, no fundamental mistakes by our bigs e.g.not putting up their hands or jumping in face of offensive rebounders coming down with an arm on post offense, which is apparently a reflex action we're not disciplined enough to stop.

He was able to play with the big boys. He will always be one of my favorite Tigers and I am really pulling for a big SEC Tournament to get him into the NCAA's. Either way, he has had a great career for an up and coming program. He will be proud to say he played at LSU in 5-10 years. He was part of the rebuild. I hope we see him around the PMAC in the future.

Fla is a really tough matchup for us (well everyone really).
If we get lazy and give Fla open looks, they will BURY us and it will be a Tn type whoopin.

JOB has to play like JOB SEC 1st team and not stupid fouls ride the pine JOB.
Hickey has to play within himself and not turn it over. He also needs to hit some shots.
Martin needs to show up and be a factor.
'dre needs to do what he does best, drain some open looks.
shavon needs to be that Sr leader.
Mickey needs to play like he usually does (knocking down a few midrange will help).
It is super important to limit 2nd chance pts to a team as good as fla.

And someone off the bench besides dre needs to come up huge. Not from a scoring standpoint necessarily, but from a minutes standpoint. TQ, Odo, maybe Hammink need to log some meaningful minutes to beat Fla.

Dre's a Big Dreamer man I think he's going to explore some professional opportunities basketball wise, and he has alot of overseas interests so he has to ball left in him

P.S. I wish I could be a Grad. Assistant somewhere I want to get my masters but its so expensive

I'll be cheering for the Tigers every game the rest of the way. I can't make myself not cheer for them.

But I've also gotten to the point where it's looking slim that they make the NCAA Tournament. So I won't be let down as much if we happen to lose another regular season or SEC tournament game.

If they win out the rest of the regular season I think they'll get the hopes back up from Tiger Nation going into SEC Tourny
