Do you agree? Should we apply it to all neighborhoods when people of another race move in, not just Harlem?

Spike Lee has obviously never been to the 9th Ward. The history and culture of that neighborhood was destroyed between 1960 and 1980. And the inhabitants are trying to destroy the Treme.
He probably thinks our grandparents left it like that when they moved to the Parish or the Northshore....

I know he's talking about New York. But he is ripping on white people for destroying history and culture of a neighborhood and that relates back to LA.

I don't even so much mind the colorful houses of the 9th, but the fact that 9 in 10 of them haven't been painted or kept up in 30 years is the problem.

I'm so glad that strong leaders like him were present to preserve the culture of Jewish and Italian Harlem as it was displaced at the turn of the 20th Century. I mean, all those historic delis and such that are still preserved and cherished in Harlem are a strong testament to the earnestness and honesty of Spike Lee's statement.

People like Spike Lee would love to bring back Jim Crow laws and culture. Just as long as it's called by a different name and as long as someone of a non-white race proposes it.

Hes like a little miniature Napoleon. Someone needs to scold him. I wonder if Les told him "Now Spike I have the want for you to stop being so racist or I will turn you over on my knee and spank you." Then he pinches him on the cheek. Spike is just an angry little fella and apparently thinks history only goes back 40-50 years.
