guys, losing to the Cajuns is not a bad deal this year. usl is very seasoned and have a ton of experience and leadership.

confidence comes with experience. this Cajun lineup is very good. yes, it's possible that the tigers would have come back to win. only a fool wouldn't believe that.

also, i'm the minority. I pull for lsu in the world series and will always pull for a team from the great state of la when my Cajuns are not involved.

good game. odds are looking pretty good that we will meet again in post season play.

No doubt about that...

I am not surprised with the outcome

It takes teams a little while to gel and ULL has the advantage of not losing many players last season

Props to ULL on the 'win' and good luck for the rest of the season

ULL looks very good this season I just feel like to many people are reading into the season with one game.

I wouldn't be surprised if LSU hosts ULL in a regional again. Actually that is what I suspect.

Let's see how you guys fair against Nola

LSU has lost to Southern University before and still made post-season play.

I really don't think LSU is too concerned it dropped an early season midweek baseball game to ULL.

what makes you think that a coach/team is not concerned or stops being concerned? that would be some pretty shitty coaching if the coach says, "ok, guys. i'm not concerned anymore. Let's just go out there and have fun."

It is what they call a 'game' right? Isn't that what its all about, really? Sometimes we need perspective don't we?

I doubt they are concerned with this lose. First, it's a mid week game, these games are pretty much just to keep players fresh. You don't see your best pitching and many times you see players that don't normally start, starting. Second, the conditions were pretty terrible. Give props to ULL for handling them though. Third, there were quite a few uncharacteristic errors that gave ULL the lead to begin with. Third, LSU is a team that's still trying to find it's identity. The entire right side of the field is still up in the air as far as who will start at those positions on a consistent basis. The lineup is shuffled every other game. PM is still trying to feel this team out and get his best 9 on the field and in the lineup. This game is absolutely nothing to be concerned about and I would bet PM feels the same. That's not to say he isn't disappointed in the outcome, but to say he's concerned is a little silly.

This is so pathetic. You give credit to ULL, but this is just pathetic to even hint that this might have been a reason LSU lost. It wouldn't have mattered if it were 70 degrees and sunny at the start of the game, the result would have still had the same meaning. None.

When I say "not concerned," I mean that a good, experienced baseball coach understands that a team will drop a few of these kinds of games over the course of a season while lineups are being tweaked.

ULL is no better/worse a loss than any other time LSU has dropped a game to UNO, Tulane, etc. Some of the best LSU teams weren't battle ready until the end of the season.

It's cute to see ULL fans lecturing LSU fans about baseball, nevertheless.

I was making a point about the "not being concerned issue". if you pay p.m. that much to not be concerned then, you may as well hire a little league coach to coach the team for free.

don't kid yourself. coaches are always concerned.

and, as a former collegiate baseball player, I can assure you that coaches and players are always concerned. when you're struggling individually, it is not fun. it stinks. in fact, even win your team is kicking arse and you are in a slump, it's not fun. don't kid yourself into thinking that this is little league. it's all about getting yourself into the next level in the draft.

I really believe UL-L has a legit chance at hosting a regional and making it to Omaha. Very balanced this year. It's still early but I've always felt Coach Robe is upper tier. The storyline for me is that his son, Austin, is the ace of the staff, correct? What a story that would be. What Father would not want to coach his son in a regional championship with a chance to make it to Omaha. Storybook shite. I do hope it's not at the expense of LSU though.
