BREC Golf system losing over $1 million a year

Pretty simple, raise course fees. If still unsuccessful next year start closing and selling property.

They have lost money for years .. Same with the TPC course that the state owns. I'm not positive that governments owning courses is a good thing. I'm also not positive that they should be shut down.

Well yeah, immediately close the worse off and sell.

clueless comment. So your saying they should raise fees on places like howell, dumas, and that would attract more players?

Black Bear, a state golf course up here, loses 1.2 million on average every year. It's just one course. Nice arse track though.

I don't think weather is the problem...

If they would hire a competent director, be honest about certain parks viability regardless of location and spend the money on the money maker, they could be out of this hole.. They should of have turned city park into a par 3 with lights, while using the rest as a multifunctional park..

They should have bought Sherwood & sold Howell and Clark park.

they arent trying to make a dime on golf.....but they would certainly like to get back closer to even



they could raise the fee a few bucks on santa maria to help curtail some of the overall loss and they would still have plenty of play there



eta: all of their courses do a very poor job of food and beverage too.....snack places, if they exist, rarely seem to be open
