I've often heard commentators/pundits mention how one player wouldn't fare well in another league or how his skills are best suited to this or that, for example that the EPL requires a lot more fitness because you must play up and down the field.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of some of these common conceptions?

Thanks!

the Premier League is like watching two turtles frick to pass the time while your paint is drying.

the Bundesliga is like watching Slamball on steroids and all of the players are LeBron James

Dempsey should have never gone back to MLS, after Spurs said they were done with him. The Bundesliga is tailor made for his game.

Most of the time it's the commentators talking out of their arse.

In what way?

In fact why are guys like Defoe, Bradley and Dempsey going back to the US? Guaranteed pt and pay?

I did see that Wondoloski got an offer to go to Europe a year or so ago but it was conditional year to year and the MLS ponied up a multi year contract. Would moves like that improve the MLS if it could consistently turn a profit?

Other than West Ham and Crystal Palace, who have managers who have used it historically, I don't know who else does in the league. It's an easy cliche about English football though.

Disagree. Bundesliga is full of teams that press pretty high and he plays slow and doesn't necessarily have the best touch.

Aron Bacon is more of a fit for the Bundesliga

Defoe doing the par for the course last big pay day playing in the US before hanging the boots up. Bradley and Dempsey no idea really but its what ever. Prime of their career should be trying to play at the highest level possible.

he is a 2nd division player in england, germany and spain or ridding the pine then getting loaded out by a first division club down to a low league anyway.

I'd rather watch the battle for the Champions League and to see if Mirko Slomka can keep Hamburg from being relegated, which has never happened.

or the EPL title race which is the closest in a while with 4 teams with a shot still. Bayern winning 4-0 every week is getting old

There's more parity in the Bundesliga than the Premiere League over the last 10 years. Just so happens there's an all time great team going right now.

British leagues generally have clubs/players that will kick the shite out of the opposition. Ex: Stoke, Motherwell

La Liga is for "technical" players.

There are plenty of reasons, both PT and pay are two of those reasons... for example, Bradley stated that he wanted to be part of helping the league become even better here.
