Are we allowed to start a petition to have a poster banned from a certain board?

I don't want to start anything just yet -

But there is a poster on the Movie/TV board that routinely posts spoilers to a television show based on his prior knowledge of the story from a different source. It seems like every time I open a thread involving the show, there are plenty of people - including me - bitching at the person for posting spoilers and he always has the same boring rebuttal - "You have a strange definition of what a spoiler is."

Besides clicking RA over and over, is there anything else that can be done?

That's what I'm doing. If it means I'm being a "bitch" then so be it. I come to this site partially to engage in discussion on the Movie/TV Board and in a thread that should not have spoilers, there is one poster who posts spoilers every week, and every week, there's the same tired argument of posters telling him to stop.

If reporting him doesn't do anything, maybe coming here and bringing it up might. I'd rather not make it a public issue though by calling him out on other boards.

That Libertyabides guy. Same ole stink every week in The Walking Dead No Comic Book Spoilers threads.

Starts on page 20. He was pretty mild this week with the spoilers though one was marked unreadable. It's been much worse.

Like I said some really weird definition of spoilers, an opinion of how badass a character is/isn't is in no way a spoiler

i agree with him...

as a comic reader myself, i don't see where he spoiled anything.

The movie board is a tough place. Two TV shows if you have read the source material they do not want to have the slightest mention of it.

Game of Thrones I understand as the books are almost TV show scripts, but Walking Dead is only vaguely based on the books. Though readers do know characters before they are shown and the general progression is there.

As I said, this week was weak though one of his bigger spoilers was marked unreadable. You can see others in the thread as tired of his act as I am.

While he may not spoil the show, he does a great job spoiling speculation on the show. For those of us who have not read the comics, at least for me I should say, we don't want to know that our speculation and discussion is wrong and off base because the original source material dictates that it is not in the realm of possibility for such things to happen.

For example, if I watch the show and post in the thread - "I could really see Judith experiencing a gruesome death," LA would be there with swiftness to say, "Judith is a main staple of the original source material and therefore will not be killed any time soon."

So I and others respond - "Hey dickfrick, how about you not spoil anything by mentioning the comics?"

And he says, "You have an odd idea of what spoilers are."

And commence the five page long argument of posters and he bitching at each other about what spoilers are.

The no-spoiler brigade got me banned last time just because I was in the non-spoiler thread (I was arguing that they have no right to try to block posters from posting in whatever thread they want). They're nuts over there.

are you saying that LA posted the spoiler in the above example? Stating an opinion with conviction is not a spoiler.

*If you don't watch the Talking Dead the below could be seen as a spoiler*

I believe in one of the Talking Deads one of the directors said they didn't want to reveal what was the cause of the outbreak in the series.

So ultimately if nothing happens with the character then he wasn't really spoiling anything since they've already stated the above.

So not really a spoiler this time, but by the way some people are reacting this isn't the first time he's done something like it.

Meh I understand. I don't know how close the scripts run, but by saying someone is badass implies they'll be around a while and kind of takes away from the mystery of if he dies soon. There's a comic reader thread so I don't know why he keeps posting and mentioning the comics in the other one.

*slight GoT spoilers*

It's kind of like people tell new Game of Thrones watchers..."OMG just wait for episode 9, that's when shite gets real". Not a direct spoiler but you can pretty much imply someone is going to die and when the last ten minutes start you can kind of figure out whats going to happen.

He's not saying that. I have not seen the thread in question.

I haven't been in any of the threads since the second half of this season started, but it's not a new problem with this guy. He's been told repeatedly how to stay in line in those threads and each time he complains that other boards are different and disregards what he's told.

It's a tired act.

To pull from Chappelle:

He's a habitual line stepper.
