TL;DR

Looking at updating my resume, while perusing new jobs, and one of the things that I've tried to work on was implementing key words based on job description.

I understand this is key since tons of resumes/apps/cover letters all get submitted into the system. Questions is how exact for key words do you have to be. If, for example, the description says "retrieving data from various sources", but you write "retrieved data from various sources", should that make a difference? Any other tips would be appreciated.

TIA

It doesn't have to be that close. Data will be the key word flagged.

thanks.

I wasn't sure how nitpicky it will get. Also, trying to make sure i get other keywords put on the resume/app as well.

Np. You can pretty much highlight key words in the job description to your resume. Manage, coordinate, successfully, implement, budget... all key words.

Yep, that's one of the bigger things I'm trying to work at it. Although, for some of the descriptions, it gets pretty darn technical.

Appreciate the input

Still working on it man? Write two resumes up, and have a few people look over them. Don't worry about it too much, the key words should stick out

always, there's always room to get better and I've seen some good listings over the last few weeks.
