It's been a while since I've been out there. How's the bass fishing? Last time I was out there (several years ago) it was pretty tough.

The upper Tallapoosa, yes. Caught some crappie, just nothing of size yet. Going back in two weeks.

Don't waste your time, honestly.

If you just want to chill and relax, its a great place. That's what I do. I also go to throw the cast net and catch bait. I go 2 to 3 times a week and load up on bait fish for cat fishing.

I've pulled in quite a few nice ones over there in the past. But, it was tough fishing. They were few and far between. So, I guess nothing has changed.

ETA: Do the bluegill still bite?

Bunches of them. I would bring the kids and load up on bluegills.

I used to mop up on bass there back in the late 80's and early 90's.....Afternoons as the sun went down....But the grass made it a bitch to move around.

Is the grass still real bad?

I haven't been there in a while. But I read that in the 90's they stopped draining the lake. I think it was because it was messing with the bird migrations or some BS like that. Ever since then the fishing hasn't been as good.

Also went several times several years ago and to say it was tough is putting it mildly. I'll never go back (at least for Bass) unless something's drastically changed.
