Does anywhere in New Orleans have it on tap?

I'm pretty sure it's bottle only. Covington Strawberry is in kegs, but not Abita.

This year may be different since Abita got their panties in a bunch when they heard bars were mixing Andy Gator with Covington Strawberry.

Maybe the lager, but they have another strawberry beer that is available on tap. I had some up here last year. I'm not a fan of the lager at all, but this other brew was pretty good.

Abita releases its strawberry beer in 2014, the beer with a cult following will be available not only in bottles, but also on draft.
That was said last year; not sure if that's still the plan.

May have been the Strawtor from their select series. Which was a strawberry flavored version of Andy Gator.

Ah, yes. I think that may have been it. It was quite a bit stronger than the regular Strawberry lager, but when I saw it on tap at a bar up here, I had to try it, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I was hoping after Strawator that they would have kegs available this time.

It's Abita, they've always been more interested in pleasing the bottom line than craft beer drinkers.

I know Abita doesn't produce crazy world class beers, but they do make a ton of money on the craft intro level. I see no problem with that. The one thing that does bother me is is how much shite people give them.

Having Abita in state is like having a QB on your team with world class talent, but doesn't put in the work and is happy as long as they get a paycheck.

They are what they are. I don't give them shite, but if you aren't trying, then don't expect me to be in your corner and support you.

Why does that bother you? They bottle average to below avergae beers, of course mavens are gonna give them shite. If they bottled their select series people would have a lot less to bitch about.

I heard recently Strawberry will be in bottles and draught this year. They will roll it out this month/early March.
