How does this fantasy draft work? What are the rules/scoring?

No scoring or real winner.

It works like any other fantasy draft, I guess. We all draft from a pool of eligible players, create a starting offense and defense, and follow each players' performance throughout their career.

Not many rules, except don't draft someone who has already been drafted, must draft 11 offense and 11 defense and field a functional form of both, shite like that. No scoring system as well. The only thing we end up doing is bragging that one of our players are being drafted high, winning the Heisman and various other awards, etc.

Have y'all ever thought of doing some type of scoring? For instance, a point system like this:
All-American - 10 points
Heisman - 20 points
Walker award - 15 points
And the list could go on. Just something for a little more bragging rights

Eh, we've never done it. If we were to do that, I'd think we'd do a system that awarded more points for players drafted after the first 5 rounds, then after the first 10, etc. It would be a complex system but I could see it being fun.

Yeah, i goota figure how much shelton ricjardson is worth with that nfl dpoy rookie. Good stuff, makes the combine more interesting in that i know a lot more names now

I don't like the scoring system idea at all.

quote:Exactly. No money needs to be involved. We could track these players all the way until they retire in the NFL. The scoring system could be really complicated, but I think it would make things a lot more interesting.

I want to do a scoring system. Something very simple like:
1st team All freshman = 5 points
2nd team all-conference = 5 points
1st team all-conference = 10 points
2nd team all-american = 15 points
1st team all-american = 20 points
Major Award = 25 points
5-7 round draft pick = 12 points
2-4 round draft pick - 17 points
1st round draft pick = 20 points
Top 5 draft pick = 25 points
The problem is finding and agreeing on a consistent source for all-conference and all-american teams. Also what do you do about independents? Another issue is this lends its self to looking for just superstars which might take some of the fun out for some people.

I can't keep up with a scoring system. It's hard enough to find out if my LBer I picked in the 18th round qualified or transferred, got arrested or died. ( Dan's first year) I just like seeing and hearing of guys you would never hear of if not for this.
This year for example. I will know who an OT and ILB is for Penn State in a few years and may be interested to watch them. Without this, can't say I would really care.

Same here. Im watching the draft combine and hearing names i actually know and would only know because of rmd. It was cool hearing george atkinson 3 talked about with his 40 and athleticism and out of notre dame... The very reasons i picked him years ago
