Yep, the greatest third baseman I've seen in 50+ years of watching baseball.

I think Bob Pettit is one of the most underrated players in any sport ever.

He's definitely on the list as well

no. he is in the hall of fame, after all
(and six of those all-star appearances came in the three years there were two all-star games)

I love Brooks, but feel he is properly rated.
Stan Musial wasn't voted to the MLB All-Time team a few years ago. Let that sink in. A majority of MLB fans thought Pete Rose was better than Stan Musial. That's absurd.

Yeah, he has only ONE season over .800 OPS. He was a dominant defensive player, but that doesn't equate to massively underrated given where he's ranked.

1,815 hits at home. 1,815 hits on the road. One of my favorite stats.

Elgin Baylor is the most underrated player in any sport of all-time.
In his day he was revered like Michael Jordan - then (because of injuries) - history basically forgot about him as being a legit Top 5 B-ball player of all-time.

He was my idol as a kid and the reason I was an Oriole fan. Got to see him play in person a few times and managed to get his autograph, still have that ball today. My wife knew before we ever got married that there was going to be no debate, my first son was going to be named Brooks. She liked the name so it was an easy sell. Coolest thing was my son (Brooks) got to meet him at a dinner about 6 years ago.
Best there was and ever will be at the hot corner.

A top 3 3B in modern baseball history.
My candidate for most underrated is LaDainian Tomlinson

A lot of people have forgotten Sterling Sharp even played, much less was on his way to a HoF career before he hurt his neck.

Agreed.
He's a slower Omar Vizquel with some pop in his bat.
