If you are running to make money then you will have to prostitute yourself.
If you are running to stand on your principles then you will either succeed or fail. But you'll feel much better about yourself either way. This is why on the national stage guys like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are taking a lot of heat but they are also admired for standing on their convictions.

It's over a 50% paycut if I win versus what I do now. I'm running because I have a plan that will put our area in better shape. It's not financially beneficial to me, but I think that it's worth it in the grand scheme of things.
