Sound about right with the win totals we have since he hired CSP.

Les,

I know you're not the biggest Loomis fan. But this time, I can't tell if you're laughing bc he needs to be ranked better than #6, or worse than #6?

I'm guessing worse?

Imo, I think his body of work since he has been here has been solid.

He has his work cut out for him this off season and next for sure.

Loomis is the fricking man. I don't care what they rank him.

He's made some great moves, but has also made some poor ones. I'd probably drop him a little in all honesty. Maybe 10 or 11.

A+ signings of Brees and Payton

average drafting overall(below par on defense)

average FA signings & re-signings that have put us in cap hell. Which is why he is reveled so much as a "bean counter". He makes it work. But in the end its just correcting his own mistakes.

The first 2 are obvious HUGE. They have set & carried the pace. Loomis alone, is meh as frick.

Coming over to borrow your pipe.

He's improved the scouting department and has been more judicious each year in what free agents to resign.

Plus he's the best cap wizard out there. He takes the shite from Payton and whoever the DC is and makes it work every year.

It isn't his fault that the market for these guys is stupid. But he works with what he has and we've rarely let a FA slip away that has gone on to do better(Fujita had a couple of years and Bush was never a FA).

For the second(or is it 3rd?) straight year we were well over the cap and are now under and can make some moves in free agency.

And we've never dipped below 7 wins, even in the bounty farce year(and even with Haslett except the Katrina crap year).

That's a pretty good track record to be around or above .500 for 13 out of 14 years with the one year being a complete frick job.

John Elway at 5 and Ozzie Newsome at 16?!?!

Based off what? Elway has done this 2 years and has the benefit of a future HOF. Newsome has sustained success in Baltimore.

As for Loomis, I think that is about right. I would say around 6-9 is his range.

You only think that because he's the only GM you know first hand.

And even if that is his 1 redeeming quality, it doesn't warrant him to be the 6th best GM in football

Why were we over the cap?

Loomis has so much swag, he knew that Sharper had one magic year in him before fading and calling it quits.

yes keep going

lets notice the trend of how many guys were from the defense

And honestly he should have been canned when they cut ties with Haslett. He was one of the main reasons for those teams.
