Amusing story: black generation gap

I was in line at a local BR McDonald's and in front of me were two older black gentlemen. They were probably in their mid/late 50s and both were well dressed (dress shirts, ties, suit pants, dress shoes) and well groomed (fairly close cut hair).
While waiting in line, a car parked outside that they (and I) could see. Out popped three young urbanites (early 20s), each wearing wife beaters and drooping pants with underwear hanging out. As they walked toward the door, one of them actually pulled his shorts DOWN to show more of his underwear.
One of the men in front of me jogged the elbow of the other and nodded towards the parking lot saying "Look at these idiots." They both shook their heads in obvious disappointment.
I cannot say if this would have been a universal response, but it was telling.

It could have just as easily been two old crackers disgusted with some young honkies.
Because I've seen plenty of white "urbanites" dressed just as silly with that sag shite and such. Wife beaters ... tuff guys. Look like they could bench about 65. Lot of cheap-arse tats. And bad teef.

And? The poli board doesn't see nor worry about race? Seem to obssess over it actually.
Did the young guys bother you, them or vice versa?
What does this have to do with politics & what is your point?
I see people dressed horribly /tacky everyday. What's your point & why do you feel it's thread worthy?

Overheard two 60ish black women, impeccably dressed, talking about the recent birth of a granddaughter. When her friend asked the baby's name, the grandmother said, "Oh, I can't remember...it's one of those NAMES!".
csb, I know
csb, I know

Damn...relax.
It was a simple, silly little story. No need to get all worked up over it.

Who is worked up? "silly" is an amusing understatement about this observation.
I simply wanted to know what it had to do with politics?
I always tell people I don't observe men enough to concern myself with their dress & I usually tell the person that has the problem to go let their issue be known.
Otherwise whispering under ones breath is supposed to what?
Oh, What does this have to do with politics?

It's gotta be really frustrating for people like the two older guys you mentioned. A lot of these kids aren't put in the most favorable situations but it's still odd to me that in young black culture they seem to glorify "trashy" behavior and condemn the kids who actually try to better themselves. I remember in high school the black kids who had their shite together and were very well-spoken were made fun of and kids would say stuff like "well, you're not REALLY black". How offensive is that? It has to be hard for these kids to succeed when a lot of them not only have economic struggles but also social pressure going against them.

You can come from absolutely nothing and achieve all the way up to Supreme Court Justice ... and still be mocked, attacked, and ridiculed.
Yes ... sad indeed.

You need to be more perceptive:
1) local McDonalds
2) Older gentleman
3) Young people
4) Waiting in line
McDs is unhealthy. OBVIOUSLY, this is about Obamacare and the long waits for "service". Young people needing to 'lift up' the sagging net (pants) that the older people depend upon.

No obsession here, Sug. We just don't apply the PC version of double standards for Blacks. The same behavior that bothers any Black gentleman when he feels (stereotyped) embarrassed by a class/race-based cultural behavior...bothers ME when I observe close family chawin', spittin and acting like a beer in hand is a ticket to redneck heaven. Damn the grades and school.
Delusion ain't racial. Nor a respecter of Intellect or Class. The colleges are full of PHDs that prove it every single day. At least ignorant folk have a legit excuse...kinda.

Or Attorney General or President?
Black folk would be absolutely impressed with the poli board & their heartfelt concern for the Black community.

Obviously referring to McD workers needing to unionize. Older men represent management.

Cream rises to the top, BA. Such pressure and challenge will make their victory all the more satisfying.
