This could be an interesting scouting tool. I wonder how often it happens.

having arrived in New Orleans to play Tulane, the Texas-El Paso Miners men's basketball team is working out at the Pelicans' facility

Is that a normal thing?
Or is it because Tim Floyd is the coach?

They will when they're in the AAC.

Most teams have more info than they need on guys at the top of the draft that went to the big schools, for guys in the middle and later at schools you've never heard of, something like this could be useful. I doubt it's a huge deal, just thought it was interesting.

I forgot Louisville was leaving the AAC, my bad.
Are UConn, Memphis and Cincinnati staying?
Still an upgrade over what's coming through there now.

FYI: UNO beat UTEP on the road earlier this season.

it doesn't have to be a team of college superstars. just one solid, late 1st, or 2nd round pick from a small school.

I'm not saying that there isn't anyone from small schools that can play in the NBA.
