Do you think FOX News is a bad thing for limited government conservatism?

I say this because ultimately I think FOX News gives RINOs and establishment Republicans a mouthpiece and platform to act all conservative and say the right things, while in reality they work behind the scenes to expand government. Allows them to talk the talk and blow hot air.
FOX News is a network that I think caters to the establishment and is pro-establishment.
And since a lot of the FOX News viewers are older senior citizen Republicans, it hurts the grassroot conservative movement.
Take my grandmother for example... she watches FOX News 24/7 and thinks McConnell and Boehner are awesome and doing a great job, and is enthusiastically supporting John Cornyn for re-election here in Texas. She thinks anyone with an R next to their name is a good politician that we need. This is because she gets to see them all the time on FOX News saying all the right things and hearing them talk about how bad Obama is and his policies are. They are more suspect to fall for those bait and switch tactics.
I think ultimately seniors were driven to the tea party movement because they were more anti-Obama than pro-limited government. Hence why you saw signs like "Keep your government hands off my Medicare/Social Security", etc.
If you look at polling data its seniors that are the most supportive of McConnell, Lindsey Graham and Cornyn in their primary challenges while younger voters are more likely to go for the challengers.

Absolutely....I will say Greta and Kelly do give people like Rand and Cruz a voice on a regular basis. Orilley is so establishment, I want to vomit.

All MSM is bad for this country. I'm glad the internet is becoming more popular, because it paints a better picture of the political landscape

The morning and afternoon news programs give politicians like McConnell a platform to go off on how bad Obama is and people eat that up. It's no wonder him and Cornyn are so far ahead in their primaries, they say all the right things and not enough people are able to see through their lies.
I hear radio ads for Cornyn about once every half hour touting how anti-Obama he is and how conservative he is. People will eat that up if there is no one there to expose the lies, unfortunately the people running against Cornyn have yet to put out any radio ads, if they have I sure haven't heard it
For Ted Cruz I heard plenty of radio ads attacking David Dewhurst and that is how he won.

Fox News is a network in the business of making money - just like all the others. They found a market share, and profit by satisfying market demand. That's all you need to know about Fox News.
Give 'em what they want and keep the customer satisfied - and profit. That's business.
I just don't understand why people don't want to see these news businesses as businesses.

Cruz didn't outspend Dewhurst in ads. Cruz won because he got key Tea Party endorsements in the media that reached people who never would of never known who he was otherwise. I know because I was one of those they reached that only watches Fox for political news.
In TX District 32 you're seeing the same thing happen with Katrina Pierson taking on Pete Sessions. Cruz didn't endorse her, but all but did. She's going to give him a run in the primary.
Fox News isn't the problem. People who watch and listen to news like Fox are going to support anyone over a Dem. If you notice, anytime anyone of the true conservatives makes a stand, they highlight and hammer it. The messengers(politicians) are the problem. I think back to Reagan. He spoke right past the media as if they weren't there directly to the audience and wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade. He was The Great Communicator for a reason. Cruz brings me hope.

because none of the liberal ones act like businesses?
Seriously, "Let's parrot the same left-wing shite as a zillion other outlets! We'll clean up!"

absolutely. FOX is a wolf in Red, White , and Blue sheep's clothing. If they were truly a mouthpiece for conservatism, they wouldn't have treated Ron Paul like the 13th floor in a hotel.

Tea party was for old folks
Occupy was for the young
Both groups want relatively the same thing, to end big government, but the media paints them as opposites.
And to answer your OP question, media that is essentially an arm of the government is bad for limited government. All MSM is an arm of the government.
