I am staying on Monday and Tuesday night next week. I tend to like to stay in places that I can walk to resaurants/bars. Never been before. Where should I stay and where should I eat? Starwoods are preferred if they have any good locations.

TIA

I go once a month for a few days and always stay at the homewood suites on providence park blvd. bonefish grill and TGI Fridays in the same parking lot. Plenty other decent restaraunts/bars within a half mile.

eat at the shrimp basket?

I've never stayed in Mobile, but there is one interstate exit that I'm way too familiar with

I assume this is the renaissance riverview? This is one of the options my travel is giving me.

There seem to be absolutely zero starwoods in Mobile.

the first parade was on Friday night and then they had three more on Saturday.

but the next one isn't until Thursday night.

they usually start around 6:45-7:00 pm.

Yes there are women's organizations parading Monday and Tuesday. You should stay downtown if you can. Plenty of great restaurants to visit within walking distance.

Edit: do u mean tonight or next week?

Next week.

Any restaurant recommendations would be great downtown. I think I may be looking at that Riverview place or the Hampton.

Yup that end of dauphin street is the better side. Bike shop for some tacos or wintzells for oysters. If you feelin fancy the bull is the shite.

The bull, bike shop, and royal scam are all good. True midtown kitchen is a short drive but worth it. The restaurants near the riverview hotel will be slammed for Mardi Gras though.

The Candlewood Suites there is decent and right in the middle of everything. Plenty of places to eat/bars in walking distance.

i actually do my drinking at the Bike Shop.

it isn't the biggest bar but I try and avoid places like Grand Central and The Garage and end up running up some insane tab.

i used to go to Boo Radley's all the time too.

that is a fun place

if your married, you might want to avoid that one.

My god it has been a long time I have been anywhere in alabama other than Auburn. I am not used to so many Aubies and gumps. We are a weird group.
