I'm going with Washington. Not a typical president, but a true leader.
FWIW, here are comments on the CSPAN Facebook that asked the same question: Here is a sampling of our country.

quote:
Dorothy Freeman Barack Obama....because our country is far better off today than when Bush left office...because he has never...not even once...responded to the republicans in a disrespectful way.....republicans who have..blocked and obstructed this president at every turn...republicans who have made hideous and ridiculous comments...about his policies, his place of birth, his family, his religion and his patriotism. In spite of EVERYTHING they have said and done...Barack Obama has always conducted himself with dignity and class.
quote:
Michael Raymond Gall Obama and Clinton. Clinton because he had a peacefull time economic and there was almost no wars when he was President. Great economy and also a side of something. With Obama he has had the biggest test of modern day, he isn't perfect made mistakes but he tries his best and tries to work with a congress who does nothing to help him even if it helps the country
quote:
Kalif Kasaba President Obama, he is the only president I've seen during my 50 years that has genuinely cared about the people.
quote:
June Swederofsky Clinton for he focused on the economy.
quote:
Emmanuel Hall Ok, For all the Obama haters; tell me where would this economy be today if if not for right wing obstructionists. And give us a list of one thing any Republican has done to better the life of any group just above middle-class and below. And name one thing, with proof that President Obama has done to hurt this country or any group just above middle-class and below. Oh yeah, you should know that President Obama is the most respected world leader on the planet, except in Islamic countries. And before you tell the standard right wing talking lie about "Obamacare", Benghazi, The IRS and all that other hatefulness you are fed by hypocrite politicians and right wing radio and television, bring some proof and unambiguous statements. If you can't do any of the above, go look in the mirror and behold a liar, bigot, fool and racist pig.
quote:
Jerry Wayne Cooke Obama-a champion for the working class
quote:
Don Savo Obama , I am 49 and I have voted in most presidential elections . President Obama has been the most progressive president in my opinion also has been very much aware of the modern society . He is addressing the issues affecting people today as well as looking ahead to creating a better America for future generations !
quote:
Bonny May Bill clinton because he actually created jobs and 0 debt! He may have been an egomaniac and sex nut but as far as the american people he made our lives greater
quote:
Bette Connors Crapser I have to now say Obama, came in under a horrible economy under the previous administration, saved us from a depression probably greater than the "Great Depression". Then has had to deal with all the obstruction, and hate from the opposite parties, like this country has never seen before. No other President has had to endure this kind of hate, and yet did the same things Obama has done and yet all the good things he has accomplished despite all their roadblocks. Imagine where we would be today with just a little sanity and respect for the American people and for this President from the obstructionist parties.
quote:
Kat Ballard Once again, only republican callers, why is this young, black woman a dyed in the wool republican? They would like nothing more than to execute her in a very public way for not being born white...

I honestly have no idea. Not even a clue.

My favorite president is William H. Harrison. He made the least new laws or regulations of any of them.

All of those people whom you posted should be castrated so that they cannot reproduce

Also, the responses you listed have to be some of the most politically ignorant people on the planet. You might as well say:
My favorite was Bush because he was a nice man and he liked the choo choo trains and really cared about my pet, grover.

With all due respect, the guy didn't have time to take a good dump while in office. He died about 30 days after taking the oath.

Ford.
Everyone who watches golf on TV has seen how the gallery lines the fairway from the tee box and forward about 100 yards, confident that a pro player will not drive a ball astray until it has cleared 150 yards.
I once told my golf partner "Ya know, if people lined the fairway from the box to about 100 yards while we are driving...someone is gonna get killed."
He agreed. Well, Ford proved my theory right.

Washington, of course. He defined the American model of democracy. He could have siezed power at the end of the revolution with the whole hearted backing of the military, but he didn't. He walked away from that possibility. He again defined the American idea of a citizen government when he walked away from the Presidency after 2 terms. He could have become president for life, but he realized the precedent that he would have set had he served again. He understood the need for a periodic change in government.
It's a pity that the ideal he presented to us has been totally lost on the current crop of power hungry members of the Democrat party.

Ike was a good golfer.
Clinton took a 'mulligan per hole' according to one reporter.
Tiger Woods said "Obama has a good short game." That's code for "He can't hit the ball very far."
