Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Sunday warned his party of a long-term political price for intransigence on comprehensive immigration reform.

"In states like mine over time the demographics will overtake -- not only mine -- but throughout the whole southwest and many other parts of the country," McCain said, appearing Sunday morning on CNN's State of the Union with Candy Crowley.

When you really break down McCain's argument he is basically saying that instead of trying to appeal to the growing number of hispanics through conservative ideals, we sell out the people legally living in this country to buy their votes like Democrats...

Does he really think trying to out-Democrat Democrats is a great strategy? It just isnt logical. Someone is pulling his strings.

Sounds like you think one party is less corrupt than the other, which is of course ridiculous.

I'm impressed that he stopped playing his solitaire app long enough to express an opinion.

No doubt they are both full of corruption, which is why we need stiffer penalties when they are corrupted, term limits, cutting of their pay drastically and only allowed to visit DC occasionally for very very short time periods. Thats all I can think of right now.

McCain is always captain obvious, but there's really nothing that's going to be good, right now. Even if they passed a law, we'd get the same non-enforcing we are getting now....

McCain's logic is probably sensible, but it's still insane. He's basically saying that we didn't secure our border or enforce our laws for over 30 years, and now we're soon to be outnumbered and overwhelmed, so there's nothing left to do but apply the KY Jelly and bend over.

As that Russian comedian used to say, "What a country."

What a stupid, stupid country.

He's like 90 years old. They need to replace him with someone who's actually conservative.

The dilemma is it is a losing battle.

The scales are tipping in this argument and the GOp has the choice of letting this become an issue that eel lose a whole demographic to, or letting the issue go and maybe we get the votes of a few million people who may care about other conservative issues (although i doubt hispanics are gonna be fiscally conservative)
