Is Gumbo a good name for a dog?

I have a friend with a dog named Queso.

When Spanish-speakers are intorduced to this dog they invariably look at my buddy and ask "You named your dog cheese?"

I think Gumbeaux is the correct spelling

Its all opinion but I like it.

Yes, the Saints used to have a dog named Gumbo that would run out and retrieve the kicking tee after kickoffs. However, they got in trouble when he pooped on the field in the Superdome during a game.
