Trashy or quaint?

On nice days, my neighbors set up a table and a few chairs on their front lawn and sit and chat a drink coffee. They do it on the lawn, since they don't have a porch. I think it's trashy, but my dad (65) thinks that's it's nice and quaint that they are outside chatting instead of inside watching tv. What say you?

I have a wrought iron table and chairs on my front porch. Didn't think I'd care for it but have sat out there several times on the morning or at lunch eat of and relaxing.
Couldn't do the yard myself, but I'd allow it.

I have a pick-nik table in my back yard and on nice days we put the red checked table cloth over and eat what I cook on the grill....
