Still too early to mock IMO. Here's where I start-

Players I count as
Absolutely Will Be Gone Before #27
Clowney
Bridgewater
Watkins
Manziel
Bortles
Barr
Mack
Robinson
Evans
Matthews
Dennard
Lewan

That's 12 in my no way available list. So we need the next 15 to comprise a pool of who is in the running. After the combine both of these should be able to be honed more finely.
For now, the
Next 15 (listed not ranked)
WR Marquise Lee
S HaHa
S Calvin Pryor
CB Gilbert
CB Verrett
LB Mosley
DT Hageman
QB Carr
TE Ebron
OT Martin
DT Nix
OT Kouandjio
WR Benjamin
DE Ealy
TE Amaro

We have to see how the Saints Need List develops after free agency. As stands now you could easily make a case for a safety (Dix, Pryor), CB (Gilbert, Verrett) or OT (Martin, Kouandjio). I've forwarded a little out of the box thinking by proposing a TE.

Out of the second group Lee, Mosley, and Gilbert might be my strongest Can't Pass On players.

It's a lot tougher to narrow down the possibility at #27 than at #15 (2013). At #24 in 2011 we did have Jordan nailed in January as a high probability of being the pick tho.

Detillier says the Saints will field offers to trade back and target players like Roberson or Beckham early in the second. I would def be alright with this if we could add another 2nd or early 3rd rounder. Team needs to get younger on offense.

I know Ill get bashed for saying an LSU player but I posted in another one of your threads I like OBJ better than Benjamin because of rumors I've heard about him (benjamin) having bad work ethic. He is a fringe first rounder (OBJ) so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Safety or CB would be my next guess Ryan likes to build his secondary first and make that his strength. As you can see from the Super Bowl champs this isn't a bad model to follow

A lot depends on the combine, but I think a lot of teams are looking for a player that can do returns in addition to their primary role. He's also very flashy, those 1-handed catches are just freakish. I think OBJ is a 1st rounder.

No doubt in my mid OBJ's stock will go up after the combine workouts

I agree. I don't know that hell rise all the way up to the teens, but there's no way in hell he's falling past the second IMO.

I wouldn't mind trading back if there's someone specific we know well still get. But man, I'd hate to trade back if a sure fire difference maker is there

His stats speak for themselves. Hes also a good return guy if he runs a sub 4.4 he goes in the first without a doubt.

I always heard his unofficial time was something stupid like 4.18.

I wouldn't hate that move but when is the last time the Saints have traded out of the 1st round to acquire more mid round picks?

I remember reading some where some scouts were "down" on CJ Moseley because of the type of year he had in 2013.

well, if that is the case, I'd love to hear what they'd have to say about Kouanddjio. I don't remember people marveling at his play this past season.

I'd be pissed at that pick.

Armstead looked good to me and I think most on here would say the same.

yet I've read where some (analysts) don't think the Saints are set at left tackle. I disagree.

guys like Kiper keep mocking the OT from Tennessee to the Saints. Antonio Richardson is a guy who I think could help the Saints out. Maybe at right tackle though? Same thing with Martin. I don't know how often teams use a 1st round pick and start the guy at right tackle though.

the last time I remember the Saints doing that was with Kyle Turley. But even then, I think he may have started out at guard and then moved to right tackle his second year?

I guess Strief isn't a lock to come back.. that is why I'm thinking right tackle instead of left. I don't see how Armstead did anything to lose his job after a rough 1st half in his debut. Since then I thought he did well... right?

I can't remember the team ever trading out of the 1st round for more picks. I do remember them trading the first round pick a bunch of times for "has been" players (like trading with Baltimore for Billy Newsome...they got Bert Jones). We sure screwed them!!!!!!!

I think if Gilbert or one of our top WRs prospects are gone that we trade back. Gilbert will be gone I don't even have my hopes up, dude will be the next great CB in the league, freakishly talented

I like HaHa Clinton-Dix. His speed and versatility show me a Kenny V and Roman Harper hybrid who covers better than Roman.
