So does anyone have any experience as an employer with 529 START savings plans in Louisiana?

I looked online and they have the form that employees should submit to HR to have deductions withheld. Is there anything else the employer should or can do to administer a 529 plan for employees, or does it work like any other standard withholding situation?

I can tell you that in almost any state, people invested in the "state" plan are unhappy with the way it works. I have a great deal of skepticism in it for most cases. You don't need the state to get into a 529 type of plan.

La 529 plan is a good option. State tax deduction , a match and no account fee. Vanguard funds. Really the best option for a LA resident.

Start plan matches, you get state deduction and low expense Vanguard funds. Not a bad deal.

If you use the LA plan, are the funds restricted to only use in LA schools?
