OT's thoughts on pick-up basketball

How did you come up playing?
Were you an A-Rod? ie whiny little b, that called fouls. "Hey you fouled me there"
Or
Were you a Jeter? ie Class and toughness, "I fouled you on that one"
I find there is a pretty distinct split in pickup games. We always played like the latter coming up. When I got older and started playing with different groups I noticed a bunch of guys like the former. And it's obnoxious.
What is y'all's opinion on the matter?

I grew up around a bunch of country boys, and every time we did something like that we would end up in a scuffle...so we didn't really play much basketball or football.

I was the "shitty center" that the actual B-Ball players knew they could get to comeout of the weightroom and round out a team. Sit under basket, rebound, knock in the junk, and hack the shite out of guards who drove. I called fouls on MYSELF!!

Yeah, I don't think I have ever called a foul on someone else. It gets me pissed when I foul someone and call it on myself, and then later on that same person will call one on me.

I NEVER call fouls. I've played about 3x a week for about 6 years and have only called like 20. I don't remember the last time i called a foul at the rec.
