I purchased a few pillow traps last year set them in a river near me( I live in ms) caught a few using leg quarters. Any pointers on bait selection and craw fishing in General would b helpful!

Cut shad for cold water. Artificial for warm/hot.

You might ask for beef spleen at meat market that is really what melt is.

Pogey is the best bait then when it warms up put a piece of Pogey and some dry bait.

What Bronco said. Go to a local grocery store with a beef counter and ask if the can get you beef spleen. Fish works good too. Either shad or mullet.

I have always done best with fish heads...they stay on a long time and crawfish love them...
