It's not the most important story in the world, but it's worth mentioning that players in real life are generally accepting of gay teammates.

This isn't at Harvard or some D-III school. Mizozu and Nebraska are two great examples of typical D-1 football teams. And nothing happened when a guy came out. Players didn't demand he use a different locker room, Christian players didn't shun him or try to convert him, etc. Basically his friends stayed his friends, he had a good experience on the team, and that was it.

Hell, he brought his boyfriend to the team's formal event after his first year and played as a reserve the next year. I am sure some guys laughed behind his back, but the situation seemed to have been taken pretty casually by everyone involved.

In other words, I'd love to read an article about Michael Sam were the word "distraction" isn't used once.

When are we going to have the first openly incestuous football player? Especially with first cousins? That's kind of a tricky gray area.

Apparently D-I college programs and the NFL have completely different "locker room cultures".

Come on now. Incest is the best, put your cousin to the test.

More states allow 1st cousins to marry, then gays.

It's not a problem as long as they leave the kids alone.

I would rather read an article that didn't discuss a players sexual preference, straight or gay.

why is sports news not about sports?
